ERIS, the Erisiana Regional Inter-rail System, is the primary mass transit system serving Malaclypse and the communities surrounding it. Its main hubs are Malaclypse Station, which is on the southern edge of Confusion; and Upper Chaos Station, which is in Upper Chaos.

History

ERIS began with Confusion Station being constructed and the construction of the Purple and Orange lines. The Blue and Green lines were constructed next. Once those were completed, the construction of the Gold line began as an outer arc, leading to the creation of Upper Chaos station as a hub. When the station was completed, the Cyan line was created to serve the far eastern portions of the city, and the Blue line was terminated in the station. After the completion of North Dock station, the White line was created to Finejo, who agreed to join the ERIS system. The Pink line was subsequently created as a line to Aftermath Heights, then onwards to Kallisti.

Local Lines

ERIS owns maintains the Gold, Purple, Orange, Blue, Green, White, Cyan, and Pink lines, which run throughout Malaclypse and outlying areas.

The Purple, Orange, Blue, and Green lines all fan out from Confusion Station to nearby communities; these were part of the original system. The Gold line is an outer arc connecting outlying areas of Malaclypse. The Pink line is a spur that connects the far-western suburbs. The Cyan line is a spur to the far-eastern portions of the city. The White line connects Finejo and Malaclypse.

In the sections below, bold text represents terminals where travelers must stop then launch from another platform to continue. These stations usually provide transfers to other lines. At other stations, passengers must jump out to stop.

Gold

This line serves the outer arc of the city and connects each of the Commnune's districts' main stations, excluding Confusion.

From West to East

  • Portsmouth
  • South Stadium
  • West Aftermath
  • Windmill (north of Hung Mung Farms)
  • Upper Chaos
  • The Rift
  • Southeast Chaos
  • The Ravine
  • Manor of Discord
  • Discord
  • 8.3 (with transfers to Seaside Line)

Purple

Serving the southeastern portions of the city, this is the main line for Bureaucracy, Portsmouth, and Zarathud, also being the primary station for the docks. To allow the affluent residents of Zarathud to bypass Portsmouth, there is a bidirectional spur between Zarathud and North Docks that terminates on existing lines away from Portsmouth Station.

From West to East

  • Zarathud
    • P1 spur directly to North Docks
  • Portsmouth
  • North Docks
    • P1 spur directly to Zarathud
  • Bureaucracy
  • Malaclypse Station

P1 Spur

Connects North Dock Station directly to Zarathud, bypassing Portsmouth. There are separate embarking platforms on both ends, but both terminate at the existing purple line arrival platform.

Orange

Serves the west central portions of the city and Disaster, with a spur serving Bureaucracy.

From West to East

  • Northwest Disaster (transfer available to Pink)
  • East Disaster
  • West Aftermath
  • East Aftermath
    • O1 spur to Bureaucracy
  • Ramiel Plaza
    • O2 spur to the plaza's north end
  • Malaclypse Station

O1 Spur

Connects Bureaucracy and East Aftermath directly.

O2 Spur

Connects Ramiel Plaza with North Ramiel Plaza.

Blue

This line serves the north central portions of the city, primarily Confusion and central Chaos. It connects Malaclypse Station and Upper Chaos Station, which serve as ERIS's hubs. It is also the only line that runs overhead in the built-up areas of the Commune.

From North to South

  • Upper Chaos
  • Lower Chaos
  • The Residence
  • Malaclypse Station

Green

This line serves the eastern portion of the Commune and the Province including Discord, Eristotle, and Dissonance. It has one spur, the G1 from Eristotle to GWNS.

From West to East

  • Malaclypse Station
  • Stable
  • Discord
  • Malaclypse Beach (transfer available to Cyan)
  • Eristotle
    • G1 Spur direct to Green Willie Naval Station (with connection to Seaside Line)
  • Dissonance
    • Connects to Cyan Line and ANERIS D Line.

Cyan

This line primarily serves the northern and northeast portions of the city, with a spur serving south-central Discord. It is a secondary line for serving Dissonance from Malaclypse. Its length in Malaclypse Commune primarily goes to recreational facilities.

From West to East

  • Upper Chaos
  • Hunting Club
  • Northeast Discord
    • Connection to C1 spur
  • Dissonance
    • Connects to Green Line and ANERIS D Line.

C1 Spur

This spur runs parallel to the gold line, and was built to enable travellers to more easily go to recreational facilities.

  • Northeast Discord
  • Malaclypse Beach (transfer available to Green)
  • Discord

Pink

The westernmost line in the ERIS system, it splits off the Orange and Gold Lines to serve the outer western portions of the city, travelling in an arc to serve Aftermath Heights, Kallisti, Disaster, and Zarathud.

Interestingly, It reuses a portion of a former tunnel to Northwest Disaster after service was suspended there (until the construction of Kallisti), hence the similarity to the existing Orange Line tunnel to Disaster (which was built later but uses the remainder of the former tunnel).

In counterclockwise order

  • Zarathud (transfer available to Purple and P1)
  • Northeast Disaster (transfer available to Orange)
  • West Kallisti
  • East Kallisti
  • West Beltway
  • Northwest Aftermath Heights
  • Central Aftermath Heights
  • Southeast Aftermath Heights
  • West Aftermath

White

This line directly connects the North Docks with North Finejo. It also has a one-way spur, W1, from Portsmouth to North Finejo. There are plans to expand this line to southern Finejo at some point.

Future Lines

There are further lines planned for the ERIS system, though it is near functional completion.

  • A possible ERIS line may go direct to the MORON system in New Seattle to offer a shortcut from the canal line (that avoids passing through Finejo)
  • A possible line (probably non-ERIS) may go direct to Ancien along E-15

Other Lines

ERIS maintains stations on some other lines that it does not own.

  • The Mal-Rav Express, connecting Upper Chaos directly to East Hodge in Ravenhurst Province.
  • The Canal Line, following the Malaclypse Interior Waterway, connects Malaclypse Station to Finejo and New Seattle, with a junction connecting to Espertio.
  • The Seaside Line, following the eastern third of the MIW and the nearby coast, connects Malaclypse Station to Bay City in the Allied Empire with stops at the 8.3 sign, GWNS, and Probeland. It connects to the Podge Line via the Triangle Junction.
  • The Red Line is a short rail to Atlantis in Hades Territory, but is not part of the ERIS system (it is named that for its destination).
  • There are connections to ANERIS in Dissonance Station (D line to Podge) and Upper Chaos Station (S line to Sanity Point).
