Portsmouth is a suburb of Malaclypse, and anchor city for the Portsmouth District. It is renowned worldwide for its poverty, Shady Acres mobile home community, and brothel. It is home to the eastern docks of the Port of Malaclypse. It is located to the northeast of The Aftermath, directly west of Zarathud, and borders the Malaclypse Interior Waterway to the north and northeast.

History

Portsmouth was founded as a working-class town in YOLD 3010 to serve what was then a small river and swampland. When the canal was built, the town was spared, but continued to be rather poor due to the lack of will to unionise and the numerous industrial structures in the area.

Tourism

Travellers to Portsmouth are advised not to go due to the high crime rate and bad trades with the local villagers. If travellers do go, they are advised to visit Sandy Hook's Gun Shop across from the town stables. They are also advised to try the local brothel, conveniently located above the weapons store.

Portsmouth Station is located here, with good service via ERIS on multiple lines. It is advised to leave Portsmouth as soon as possible!

There is a welfare office in the city if you require social services, privately run by Foxcon.

Crime

Crime regularly takes place, and the constabulary is too occupied with embezzling city funds to do anything about it. Expect to be murdered, raped, mugged, and possibly stared at with a look of contempt. Beggars are common but there is no penalty for executing them.

Villagers may swindle tourists in bad trades. Use caution!

District

Portsmouth is the anchor city of Portsmouth District, which is also home to Zarathud.

Famous residents

No one famous has ever come from Portsmouth. It is impossible to rise above the despair and poverty in this place.
