History
The portion of the Seaside Line from Malaclypse to Green Willie NS was originally part of the Canal Line. When the Commune of Malaclypse was established, a new station was built at the north end of the Malaclypse Bridge, separating that segment from the rest of the Canal Line. Once Malaclypse grew large enough, there was increased demand for a direct connection between Bay City and Malaclypse, so the line was built. The first stage of the new construction added a new automated junction at Green Willie NS then expanded the line with a long viaduct to Probeland. The project was then abandoned due to the prohibitive cost of building a bridge over an ocean strait. However, when the House of Eris decided to replace the bridge linking New Seattle with Mountain Home, a group of historical preservationists persuaded the House of Eris to save the aesthetically significant bridge and relocate it to the strait (replicating portions to make it the required length). This bridge allowed the main stretch of the Seaside Line between Probeland and Bay City to be completed.
