Minecraft:Elizafox/Proposal to rename some Erisiana highways
When the Erisiana highway system was created, there was only one top level of highway. These were the so-called E routes, or Erisiana routes. With the advent of provincial routes (starting with Malaclypse Route 1), some of these highways may be transferred to territory or province jurisdiction.
In addition, it is desired that north-south routes be even, and east-west routes be odd, for consistency.
This proposal only restructures Erisiana-level highways; Malaclypse and Ravenhurst highways will be done later.
Below is a list of proposed renames.
Renaming of three-digit connector routes
These are confusing and unintuitive, so should be renamed.
Erisiana Route 510 (E-510) to New Seattle Route 1 (NS-1)
This was named this way in a rather hurried manner, and should be renamed to something more suitable. In addition, it is also a predominantly east-west route, so should be odd.
Renaming routes to reflect alignment
Some roads are misnamed despite going north-south or east-west, and should be renamed to reflect predominant alignment. Some routes are ambiguous, like Erisiana Route 10 (which is a mixed-direction route), but should be kept the way they are.
Rename Erisiana Route 5 to Erisiana Route 2
This is predominantly a north-south route to New Seattle.
Reform of Erisiana Route 10 spurs and connectors
Erisiana Route 10 was the first major route; many changes have been instituted since it was constructed.
Transfer of Erisiana Route 10 spurs to provincial jurisdictions
These spurs of Erisiana Route 10 should be transferred to various provinces.
Erisiana Route 10B to Malaclypse Route 6
This route would be a Malaclypse route if built today, since it is merely a simple bypass around Portsmouth.
Erisiana Route 10D to Malaclypse Route 8
This route would be a Malaclypse route if built today, since it is a simple connector to Discord, located entirely in Malaclypse.
Erisiana Route 10E to New Seattle 2
This is a simple connector located entirely in New Seattle.
Conversion of spurs into full routes
These spurs do not qualify for transfer to provincial jurisdiction (often due to passing through multiple provinces, or terminating in a foreign area).
Erisiana Route 10A to Erisiana Route 7
This spur crosses the Malaclypse Interior Waterway to Finejo, and should be its own route.
Erisiana Route 10C to Erisiana Route 13
This route crosses jurisdictions (Malaclypse and Ravenhurst provinces) and so cannot be transferred to a single provincial jurisdiction. Therefore, it should be named Erisiana Route 13 (11 was previously used by the Finejo tunnel in Malaclypse).
