The Commune of Malaclypse is an agglomeration of districts, consolidated into what would be colloquially called a city, controlled by Erisiana. It is the capitol of Malaclypse Province, and the main anchor city for the region.
History
Malaclypse was created in YOLD 3181 by Discord House and the House of Eris jointly, shortly after the construction of the Malaclypse Interior Waterway, for which it was named. The initial structures were the large arch bridge above the canal from Lookout Naval Station, a glass station, and the Malaclypse Stadium.
Subdivisions
Malaclypse is divided into six districts, named for seasons of the Discordian calendar (except St. Tib's, which lies in no season). Each district is home to an inquisitor office.
The Aftermath
The Aftermath is a run-down and light industrial district in the west portion of town, bordering Confusion directly east, Bureaucracy to the southeast, and a small portion of Chaos to the northeast. Disaster is directly west, Portsmouth is to the southwest, and Kallisti is to the northwest. It is home to the Malaclypse Stadium, Hung Mung Farms, a statuary, and several housing projects.
Connections between the incident at Disaster and the poverty and low health of the residents here are likely unfounded.
E-10 passes between Disaster and The Aftermath, which bypasses Malaclypse en route to Ravenhurst. There is also a ramp to E-10 along Mung Street.
The Aftermath's district colour is red.
Aftermath Heights
The Aftermath is home to Aftermath Heights, a neighbourhood similar to Kolwoon Walled City in Hong Kong.
Confusion
Confusion is a mixed-use middle class industrial and residential and the hub of the city, situated between the canal, The Aftermath to the east, Discord directly east, and Chaos to the north. The main station for the ERIS system, Confusion Station, is located here. The primary theme of this district is buildings that are strange in appearance, often imitating objects in Minecraft, or just being plain weird.
The Residence, a large upscale apartment with a large compass on top, is located here, near Chaos.
Confusion's district colour is cyan.
8.3 District
The 8.3 district (in actuality a neighbourhood) is near the 8.3 sign, which shows random strings in the DOS 8.3 file format. It is the high-tech hub of Malaclypse, being home to numerous Minecraft technology-related businesses.
Chaos
Chaos is a somewhat upscale residential and white-collar business district north of Confusion and Discord (with a small border with The Aftermath to the west), whose primary theme is gaudiness. It is divided into Lower and Upper Chaos, being divided by a river and plateau. This district is home to the Malaclypse Hospital, as well as Upper Chaos Station, which is a large hub for northern Malaclypse.
Chaos's district colour is lime green.
Lower Chaos
Lower Chaos, situated directly north of Confusion, is home to the Sacred Chao night club, an ERIS gas station, and a Discordia Convenience (the founding station, in fact). It is host to most of The Riverwalk (a very small portion being in The Aftermath), a scenic walk along the Malaclypse River. It is primarily home to recreational businesses.
Upper Chaos
Upper Chaos, situated across the Malaclypse River on a plateau, is oriented towards non-recreational white collar work. Upper Chaos is home to the hunting club, the Malaclypse Hospital, Upper Chaos station, and a police outpost. There are two ramps leading to the E-10 highway to Ravenhurst, on Satan and Hipster Streets.
Upper Chaos is notably home to the Big Sign, a sign that displays random messages (which the population must always follow).
Discord
Discord is the posh district of Malaclypse, far removed from the poverty and despair of The Aftermath. It borders Chaos and Ravenhurst Province to the north, Confusion to the west, and Eristotle district to the east. It is home to upscale restaurants, large mansions, a beach, and the enormous Discord Baths.
Discord's district colour is blue.
Bureaucracy
Bureaucracy, bordering the Aftermath to the north, Confusion to the east, and Portsmouth to the west, is home to major government buildings, embassies, and the central police station. It is where the decisions which ruin affect all our lives are made, and where the headquarters for the businesses that make the products that poison you you use every day lie (and occasionally tell the truth). It is also home to the north side of the Malaclypse canal docks.
This district has numerous skyscrapers, particularly ones that are odd in design.
Bureaucracy's district colour is yellow.
St. Tib's
Worthy of an honourable mention is St. Tib's, a district of one block, to commemorate St. Tib's Day in the Discordian calendar (the Discordian leap day. St. Tib's day lies in the middle of Chaos, but is not part of it (in both the Discordian calendar and Malaclypse). It is home to an inquisitor, associate inquisitor, and offices above the inquisitor. Most of the inquisitor building is actually located in Lower Chaos by necessity, but the centre of the building is the district itself.
It is rumoured the inquisitor and associate inquisitor only exist as an excuse to pocket additional rent money in the form of taxes on the offices above. This may be the reason the district was founded entirely; the historical record is unclear.
St. Tib's district colour is pink, not represented on the flag due to the diminutive size of the district.
Transportation
Transportation in Malaclypse and surrounding areas is served by ERIS (Erisiana Regional Inter-rail System). It is by far the most extensive inter-city rail system in the entire minecraft world, though New Seattle's MORON system comes close.
